Programs & Communications Officer

Role description

The Programs & Communications Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing programs – Conducting research to identify new programs and refine existing programs
  • Developing curriculum – Undertaking research for program topics, developing instruction material and experiential learning exercises
  • Managing partnerships – Building and managing relationships with Offices of Members of Parliament, NGOs, YLAC’s corporate clients, educational institutions and influencers
  • Developing communication strategies – Designing as well as implementing strategies to build greater visibility for YLAC programs
  • Supervising fellows and managing their performance
  • Coordinating logistics for upcoming programs

Requirements

  • An ideal candidate would be excited to work at the intersection of education and citizen engagement, and would be passionate about engaging with young people
  • An undergraduate/ postgraduate degree from a reputed institution
  • 1-5 years of work experience
  • Excellent communication skills: both reading and writing, and an eye for detail
  • Equal parts comfort with spreadsheets and people
  • Ability to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong desire to learn new skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to come up with creative ideas

Location
