Officer, Partnerships & Outreach

 
This role will involve managing YLAC’s advocacy initiatives, handling external communications and building partnerships with other social impact organizations and influencers. The officer will spend most of her/ his time in building meaningful citizen engagement campaigns and traveling across the country to action them on the ground!
 
Role description

The role will entail:

  • Deepening YLAC’s partnerships with offices of Members of Parliament, educational institutions, civil society organizations, media houses, social media firms and other influencers to further the cause of citizen engagement
  • Conceptualizing and managing YLAC’s civic action interventions to increase voter awareness, encourage debates on policy discussions, regulate hate speech etc.
  • Creating and executing a communications strategy for building greater visibility for YLAC and its work, including management of website content, social media and public relations

 
Requirements

An ideal candidate is someone who is excited about communications and partnerships and is keen to leverage these skills to drive citizen engagement. While we are open to receiving applications from anyone passionate about the role, we would prefer that a candidate have:

  • A background in communications/ public policy/ advocacy/ partnerships
  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Love for writing and design
  • Equal parts comfort with spreadsheets and people
  • Ability to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong desire to learn new skills

Officer, Programs & Communications

 
This role is an opportunity to change the way civic education is imparted in India by working right at the intersection of active citizenship and education and developing experiential learning programs that leave a deep impact on people. The role involves interacting with young people – from high school students to professionals – and jet-setting across cities to spread our message of civic action far and wide. Role description

The role will entail:

  • Managing our civic education partnerships to develop experiential learning curriculum for schools in India
  • Handling YLAC’s flagship initiatives such as the Counter Speech Fellowship and the High School Achievers Program, including supervision and performance management of fellows as well as program delivery
  • Engaging with program partners to shape and enhance our interventions; developing new partnerships to further the cause of citizen engagement
  • Exploring new avenues to expand our footprint to other cities, including tier II and III, by exploring design changes in existing initiatives to set them up for scale
  • Developing and implementing communications strategies to build greater visibility for YLAC programs
